frequently asked questions
Is therapy with you covered by insurance?
I am considered an out-of-network provider, however you can contact your insurance provider and inquire about their coverage for out-of-network mental health providers. I provide you with a superbill, which will be emailed to you at the end of each month for you to submit to your insurance. Depending on your insurance, they will *sometimes* reimburse you a certain percentage of session costs (this is based on your specific insurance providers out-of-network mental health care benefits).
What’s the benefit of using an out of network Therapist?
Using an out of network Therapist gives you more flexibility and freedom to choose someone who feels like the best fit for you. Without constraints of the insurance umbrella, OON Therapists can offer customized care and expanded treatment options, in addition to enhanced privacy. The process of paying out of pocket for therapy also can serve as an important symbol of investment and commitment to yourself and the process.
What if I’m not sure we would be the right fit in working together?
No problem. Finding the right therapist for you can be tricky as there are so many therapists with so many different personalities and approaches. I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation (virtual or in-person) which allows us the chance to see if we’d be a good fit in working together.
Are you seeing virtual clients? How about in-person clients?
Yes! I am currently seeing clients both in-person and virtually. In-person appointments are located in Manhattan Beach. Virtual appointments require that you are located in the state of California.
Do you offer sliding scale fees?
I reserve a few sliding scale spots for those with financial need. Sliding scale means the rate per session is discounted in efforts to provide more accessible services for those with limiting financial circumstances. Please contact me directly to discuss this option.
What is the rate per session?
My rate is $210 per 50 minute individual therapy session.
